ooh she’s back, and with a new brand to introduce you all to! i was approached by the lovely christianne at naughty knickers lingerie to see if i’d be up for trying out a set from their own brand ‘inamorata london‘ which consists of two ranges: dahlia and aster. i was sold on the fact that it includes 30 back bands and goes up to a G cup, as so many new brands (understandably, but still frustratingly) stick to core 32-38 A-D sizes. i left the styles up to christianne to choose from my favourite selections, and received the dahlia sweetheart balconette bra in 30FF, with the matching brazilian thong in a size S (8-10).

the look
the dahlia range blends black mesh and faux leather together for a minimalist style with ultimate impact. the faux leather has a wet-look sheen to it rather than a matte or shiny, plastic-y PVC finish and feels really sophisticated but still edgy. it looks neat and well made, and gives a great silhouette without any gimmicks. both the sweetheart bra and brazilian thong brief work well together, and looking through the rest of the range it looks like a fabulous little mix and match offering with something to suit every preference – including bralettes and a body. the black is brought together with gold coloured hardware, adding a luxe feel and a little bit of sass. it’s sexy, yet simple enough to be worn as your everyday lingerie. the best of both worlds!
the fit
the dahlia sweetheart bra fits me fabulously in a 30FF. the back of course is a little big with me being a 28G, but it feels true to size and very supportive, and sits nicely when clasped on the tightest set of hooks. it is very much a true balcony shape, with a bit of a half cup feel to it (it reminds me a little of scantilly’s unleash and harnessed half cup bras, in terms of shape). the cups are constructed from two pieces of foam with a single vertical seam at the centre of the cups, giving a lovely uplifted and projected shape that’s typical of a half cup style.

the apexes of the cups sit a little wider than i personally like and towards the end of the day i did feel them rubbing against my underarms a little uncomfortably. it does seem to have softened up after a couple more wears and a wash, so this may be something that eases up over time and is just part of the new-bra-process! i do have a pretty compact, narrow frame too which probably doesn’t help. the straps on the bra are half-adjustable with simple sliders and ring details – something to bear in mind if you have short shoulders and usually adjust your straps quite tight. i wear mine at about half way up the adjustable length. the back fastens with three columns of two hooks and eyes, and the powermesh wings feature flexible plastic boning.
the brief is a perfect fit, sitting low on the hips and giving a cheeky brazilian shape at the back. it’s a little less covering than a standard brazilian knicker, hence the term ‘brazilian thong‘, which i think might just be my new favourite! it is entirely made from the soft faux leather fabric, with a brushed lining that’s comfortable on the skin. the size small is spot on for my 8-10 UK dress size.
the verdict
the items are well made, comfortable, and fit as expected. i’ll certainly be keeping an eye out on naughty knickers and inamorata london if this is what we can expect more of from them! the sizes range from 30-38 B-G, which for a new brand feels like a nice starting size range – especially on a website like naughty knickers which stocks more luxury, smaller cup ranges. dahlia is such a great value set and even better, it’s currently on sale! even at full RRP it feels worth the price, but if you want to grab a bargain i’d act fast. the sweetheart bra retails at £45 and is currently available at just £17, while the brazilian thong retails at £22.50, also currently £17 – that makes it £34 for the set!*
what do you think of this lush little set? let me know your thoughts! also check out esty lingerie for a review on the beautiful aster set from inamorata london, too.
