the superboost lace plunge bra and thong set* from gossard* was gifted to me with no obligation to review. all thoughts & opinions are my own and are entirely uninfluenced.
gossard* are a brand that i’ve always had my eye on and had tried previously in the past with not much luck. it seems like they’ve recently introduced 28 bands though (previously only going down a to 30) and i was super excited to give them another try! they cover A-G cups with a good selection of DD+ designs, and offer beautiful styles at a reasonable price point from bras and knickers to bodysuits and nightwear too.
the look
i was sent the beautiful ink blue colourway of the gossard superboost lace plunge bra*, which is a nice low plunge with a thin back band made of powermesh, slim shoulder straps, and a 3-piece cup with a beautiful lace overlay. the brand’s signature ‘G’ charm sits at the centre gore, while the hardware details are coated blue to match the bra. i would consider the blue to be more of a petrol shade (i would usually consider ink blue to be more of a navy/cobalt) but whatever you want to call it, it is a lovely hue that would look amazing on any skin tone.
i received the coordinating thong* which is my preferred style of brief and is made from the same beautiful floral lace, beautifully mirrored across the centre front seam. the back is a simple mesh for simplicity and comfort, and there’s another gold ‘G’ charm at the centre front waistband.
the fit
in a 28G, this bra fits me comfortably and is easy to wear all day. the band is a little on the generous side, but not huge – with a 27” underbust measurement, i find it comfortable and supportive when fastened on the middle hooks. the cups give a lovely uplifted and pushed-together shape, and the thin foam lining keeps my bust rounded.
i do find the cups to run a little shallow, but i have a fairly full/round and firm breast shape and they likely are designed this way to give the great shape that the gossard superboost range* is known for. this slightly shallow cup results in by boobs pushing the wires down slightly throughout the day so they don’t stay perfectly in my inframammary fold, but this doesn’t appear to affect the shape or support i get from the bra – and i actually didn’t notice they’d slipped until i went to take it off at the end of the day!

the straps are fully adjustable with a good length, but could benefit from being just a little wider to better take the weight of heavier boobs. while the band gives enough support, because i have such soft and squishy shoulders i do find that the straps dig in just a touch too much towards the end of the day (possibly due to the wires slipping slightly though!).
the thong* is a size small which fits my usual size UK 8-10 perfectly. i’m always dubious of centre seams on knickers because i find they often sit in all the wrong places and can be a little uncomfortable, but the cotton gusset on this thong comes quite far forward meaning the seam just sits nicely at the front.
the verdict
a signature style in the gossard lingerie* range, their superboost plunge bra* is a practical and comfortable style. perfect for everyday and also more special occasions, it’s a little bit of everyday luxury! i love that the padding isn’t too heavy and feels nice and lightweight when wearing it, and would be very interested to try out the non-padded version* too.
not a fan of blue? no problem! this key range* is available in a whole rainbow of fashion colours from yellow to pinks, and including everyday essential black, white and beige.
so any fellow small-backed babes, i would definitely recommend checking gossard bras* out. with so many brands dropping 28 backs, it’s nice to see a brand actually adding them to their size range. i’ll certainly be keeping an eye on gossard* from now on!
