lingerie review: indulge me full bust bodysuit – scantilly

this scantilly by curvy kate bodysuit was purchased with my own money from brastop.com | photos shot by ylenia margareci.

i’ve been sat on this review for a long time, and she’s finally here! the indulge me body from scantilly by curvy kate was eagerly awaited and sold out with most retailers in pretty much a week of being launched. as soon as i saw it drop, i snapped it up because i NEEDED it in my life – ever since i saw sneak peeks of it!

in a black/latte colourway, the indulge me bodysuit is designed with a black floral lace and mesh overlaying a latte tone base. the base means it isn’t very sheer, so there’s no nipples peeking through the lace! it’s made from a soft stretch fabric that flexes to fit around your curves, and is a non-wired design. the gusset features two rows of 3 hooks and eyes allowing you to adjust the length to suit your height – a godsend for me as i’m only 5’3 and mostly leg, so my torso is quite short! the hook and eye fastening is made really well with a soft fabric lining to it and i felt absolutely no irritation. when i wear it as outerwear though, i do tend to wear a simple seamless thong underneath just for some extra protection.

it has a classic bra fastening at the back – 3 rows of 3 hooks and eyes – so you can get the best fit for your band size. i wear the fastening on the middle to tightest hooks to get the best support and fit for my shape. the straps are also fully adjustable, and can be worn straight or crossed at the back. i personally prefer it crossed back as it feels a little more secure!

it comes in small/medium/large/extra large sizes, so not cup sized, but due to the stretchy nature of the fabric it can easily accommodate a range of cup sizes, including those below the DD+ cup sizes they usually cater for! they suggest taking your normal brief/clothes size to fit your body, and let the stretch lace do the work for your chest. this worked for me: the small fits me perfectly in the torso for my size 8-10 frame, and the ‘cups’ suit my 28G bust really well. i probably could actually do with an extra small if they made it so it’s definitely designed to accommodate curves! i’ve also seen this bodysuit on babes like georgina horne of fullerfigurefullerbust, so if you need any proof that it works just as well for GG/H+ cups too, look no further.

i’ve styled this gorgeous body as outerwear a few times and it has held my bust firmly in place through nights of dancing and drinking, plus some pretty intense jumping at a gig or two! it obviously isn’t as secure and uplifting as a traditional underwired bra, but considering the design of it, it is surprisingly supportive and beyond comfortable. it also washes well, i normally handwash my lingerie where i can but i’ve ran this through the washing machine a couple of times (on a delicate, cool wash and in a lingerie wash bag) and it’s still in absolute perfect condition.

at a price point of £45, i reckon it is well worth the money. i’ve worn mine so often and it’s one of my favourite full-bust bodies that i’ve found. would you give it a go?

xo, the lingerie princess
