the passion flower halterneck bra set from lovehoney* was gifted to me. all thoughts and opinions are my own and, as always, entirely uninfluenced.
last week i brought my first lovehoney lingerie review to the blog – the late night liaison body – and this week i’m bringing another one. this is a set i’ve been really excited to talk about, and received some great reactions on my instagram stories when i first shared a sneaky peek at it! i love how it brings something different to ‘sexy lingerie’ with the colours being a stark contrast to the usual black, reds and pinks you see in boudoir collection. it’s quickly become one of my favourite bedroom lingerie sets…
the look
the passion flower range from lovehoney is a simply stunning new style for the brand, with the same shape as some of their previous halterneck sets (like this stunning red version*!) in a beautiful and bold blue and purple floral design. the halterneck bra has a beautiful high neck design with a cut-out plunge front, meeting super slim ties at the neck and an adjustable back band. it comes as a three piece set with a simple g-string and suspender belt that use the same slim strappy details and floral stretch lace.
i absolutely love the bold colour palette of the passion flower set – the purple and blue contrast each other nicely, with a pop of silvery white to break it up and add a little something extra. the floral lace is met with elastic criss-cross strap detail on the bra and suspender belt which works to bring it all together. i’ve paired mine up with a pair of beige seamed stockings but i can’t stop thinking about how good this would look with these purple or pink topped stockings from what katie did!
the fit
like most lovehoney lingerie, the passion flower halterneck 3-piece set is available in ‘one size’ which is said to fit sizes 8-16, and a curve size which fits sizes 18-24. i will never not be wary of clothes-sized lingerie, especially when it comes to ‘one size’ sets, but i am super impressed with the fit of this – which is definitely helped by the adjustable straps and stretchy fabrics.
the bra fits my 28G bust fairly well. it isn’t a perfect fit – as is expected – as the outer edges of the underwire do dig into my breast tissue slightly and i could do with a little extra height or coverage at the underarm, but as this isn’t something i’m intending to wear as a day to day set i can accept this! it otherwise gives me an incredible shape and lift and the lace, while being stretchy enough to fit my bust without causing any overspill, is also supportive enough to not cause major discomfort and has a single dart in the front of each cup to help give shape and capacity. the band is fully adjustable with a slider so you can loosen or tighten it to suit your preferred fit. my underbust measures at around 27-28″ and i had the back strap adjusted to about 3/4 of the tightness for the most comfortable fit, so there’s plenty of room either side.
the thong features sliders on the sides to get an adjustable fit. i’m currently sitting at around a size 10-12 on my hips (measuring 40″ at the fullest part) and had it adjusted just short of halfway, so i’d say it runs a little on the snugger side of true to size – but this does depend on where you usually prefer the waistband of your knickers to sit! it’s a very simple g-string shape with a cotton lined gusset and lace detail to the back.
finishing the set off is the suspender belt which is a simple construction of a slim waistband (fastening with a swan hook like the bra), stretch lace panels and four adjustable suspender straps. this does run a little on the bigger side – i adjusted the slider as tight as it could go and it still felt a little big, but this might be because i prefer to wear my suspender belts high on my waist rather than low at my hips.
the verdict
overall i am super impressed with the fit that the passion flower set provides. it’s not something i could wear for a whole day – the halterneck shape will eventually cause some neck pain for me after extended wear (the joys of a bigger bust!), and the suspender belt just isn’t sturdy enough to hold up a pair of stockings all day – but for something that gives you a bit of a confidence boost for date night i’d highly recommend it! the fabrics are soft and comfortable without feeling cheap or fragile, so if you’re looking for a cute bedroom set this fits the bill.
in terms of the size range, as i touched on previously, the standard ‘one size’ fits clothes sizes 8-16 and i’d recommend it for those who wear up to a 28GG/30G/32FF/34F/36E (all sister sizes in terms of cup volume) – and possibly larger cup sizes if you have narrower breast roots.

hey megan, thanks for your comment! one-size lingerie sets like this are quite common for ‘bedroom-only’ styles, but previously all the ones i’ve tried have been laughably small or just not adjustable enough to get the fit right. lovehoney definitely seem to have hit this spot on though!
