lingerie review: chill with me cosy bralette – reign studio

i have previously worked with reign studio, but the ‘chill with me’ bralette set was purchased with my own money. images self-shot.

reign studio started off as a swimwear brand, with full-bust friendly bikinis and swimsuits designed to fit F-KK cups. this summer they released their first loungewear set – the ‘chill with me’ cosy bralette and brief, and have now re-branded to reign studio. their original bralette set is available in baby pink or grey marl, and i pre-ordered mine as soon as i could because i am ALWAYS on the lookout for perfect D+ cup bralettes and comfortable loungewear.

the look

the ‘chill with me‘ set from reign has a calvin klein look to it – that scoop neck bralette with the high leg, mid-rise brief and branded waistbands. it’s simple and modern with no fuss or frills. the bralette has a racerback shape to it, and the brief is a generous cut with good coverage all round. i opted for the baby pink as i have a bit of grey in my collection already, and wanted something a little different, and it’s a really subdued pastel hue.

this set is finished really well, with neat and tidy cuts and stitches. there are no frayed edges, the colour is uniform, and the waistbands are neatly attached to the main fabric without bulky seams that can often cause irritation.

the fit

in reign’s swimwear, a size small tends to fit me perfectly as a UK 28G and size 10, so i went with the same size for the chill with me range. the fit is so obviously made for fuller busts as the top is actually a little roomy on me! if an XS was available i could have sized down comfortably which is unheard of – i can’t remember the last time i wore an XS on anything in the top and if anything i normally have to size up…! so, if you’re busty and concerned this won’t fit you, think again. the sizing is possibly more generous than the swimwear as it’s made from a softer, stretchier fabric and doesn’t have the powermesh lining that the swim ranges have.

speaking of the fabric – it’s a buttery soft cotton-modal blend that feels like a second skin. it’s stretchy without losing shape, and the thick underband helps it to stay in place and offer extra support. there are no pre-formed cups, no padding and no lining so you get that nice, natural shape and all-day comfort.

the brief sits high on the hips, with a bit of a high leg cut which i love, and gives a really nice shape in the rear. the fit is spot on in a small for my 39″/size 10 hips, and thanks to the softness of the fabric it would probably fit up to a 12 before needing to size up to a medium. the gusset has a good length to it and sits right where it should for full comfort.

the verdict

who needs calvins when you’ve got reign? i love this lounge set so much, and it’s perfect for doing a gentle yoga flow in too. the top could even be used to sleep in as it is just so soft and gentle on the skin, and looks great as a crop top with denim shorts for those summer days too. it washes well and retains its shape and colour when washed on a delicate cycle with similar colours, in a lingerie wash bag. it has quickly become one of my most worn styles during lockdown and while working from home – even though i am a real believer in underwired bras and getting that perfect support, sometimes us bigger busted folk just want comfort and cosiness – that bra-free feeling without causing pain from the weight of our boobs – which this manages perfectly.

remaining sizes are limited right now, so if you’re wanting to try this out i’d order quick! shop all loungewear at reign studio today, and get use my code LINGERIEPRINCESSREIGN to get a 10% discount* on your order!

  1. this set is so so cute on you and I 110% need it!!! how stretchy is the band part? i sit pretty much smack between a 32FF/34F and am not sure if I should get the small or medium… actually — how long is the entire bralette? i have such a short torso I’m betting the band will be on my waist!

    1. hey! i definitely recommend it – the whole bralette is made from a really buttery soft, stretch fabric. i’m quite petite in the torso too, and it does sit lower than most other bralettes, but it’s so super comfy and makes it wearable as a crop top. it would also be pulled up slightly by a larger bust. reign’s size guide puts a 32-34 F/FF in a medium, but i do find this much softer and stretchier than their swimwear so i’d personally recommend a size down. if there was an XS, i would’ve gone for that! hope this helps x
